وأوضحت الصحيفة أن النائب عن حزب الأقاليم، فيتالي زوراسكايكان، كان عضوًا في حزب الرئيس الأوكراني السابق، فيكتور يانوكوفيتش، وصاغ مشروع قانون، في يناير الماضي، يشدد القيود بدرجة كبيرة على التظاهر ضد الحكومة، كما صاغ سابقا مشروع قانون يجرم التشهير.
وذكرت الصحيفة أن «زوراسكايكان» الآن عضوًا في حزب التنمية الاقتصادية، وكان يسير بجوار حشود من المواطنين تجمعت خارج مبنى البرلمان عندما أمسك به بعض الرجال ودفعوه داخل صندوق للقمامة، وسكبوا عليه الماء وألقوا حقيبته وإطار سيارة فوقه، موجهين له اتهامات بالتسبب في سفك الدماء بالبلاد، لكونه لعب دورًا كبيرًا في إصدار العديد من القوانين المثيرة للجدل خلال فترة الحكومة السابقة.
وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن المتظاهرون المنتمون لحركة «اتحاد الحرية لجميع الأوكرانيين»، وحركات قومية أخرى، طالبوا بالإعلان على فحوى قانون يمنح وضعا خاصا لبعض المدن شرق البلاد، وكذلك تمرير قانون يعاقب أعضاء في الحكومة الأوكرانية السابقة.
وأقر البرلمان الأوكراني، في اقتراع سري بجلسة عقدت، الثلاثاء، قانونا ينص على عدم ملاحقة الانفصاليين، أو معاقبتهم، ومنح حكم ذاتي محدود لبعض المناطق في مقاطعتي دونتسك، ولوجانسك، في حال تسليم الانفصاليين في الشرق، أسلحتهم، وإطلاق سراح الرهائن، وفقا للصحيفة.
